Open day -and Events for 2026

Well, it´s coming to that time of the year where we have to start thinking about the new season.     I set out below the various important events that are coming along quite quickly now.

Signing Up Day - Thursday the 19th March at 11.30am in The Inn on the Park.

I am attaching your Membership application and competition entry forms.    Please complete these forms and return them to Roy on signing up day.  This year you will be able to pay online as well as by cheque or in cash.    The Bank information is on your application form.    Make a note of what competitions you have entered for ease of reference.

Setting up the Green - Monday 30th March at 10.30am

It would be appreciated if as many of you can attend and help.    All the ditch mats have to be laid.   They were all cleaned prior to storage so it should be fairly straightforward.    I will remind you all nearer the date.

Open Day - Saturday the 11th April at 2.00pm

Please all try to come along.   We are hoping to secure some new members and it would be good to have a lot of Club members there.

We are very fortunate in that we have a new Coach.   His name is Peter Ring.    He met with the Committee on the 26th February and put forward his proposals to coach all members whether new or experienced.   He has been coaching for the last nine years and holds all the relevant Certificates, is DBS checked and fully insured.    Peter has said that he will be available to coach on various days and that is something you can talk to him about.    Arthur will continue to coach as well and will work in partnership with Peter.    We are very fortunate that Peter is not going to make a charge for coaching.    In this regard, The Committee have given him an honorary membership.     We could all do with some help in certain areas.

 President´s Cup - Wednesday the 15th April  at 2.00pm

Please be there punctually as teams have to be drawn before we can play at 2.30pm.

Membership And Contact

New members and visiting teams are welcome. For enquiries, reach the club secretary, Mrs Jackie Playford, using the link below.

The club annual subscription is currently £15 per year for existing members and £60 for new members, which includes the supply of one club shirt, clubhouse key and bowls stickers.

History – The club was formed in the late 1990’s at the park but did not have a green at that time. It rented a local bowling green until the then park owner allowed a large area to be used. As the club grew the park then built the proper 6 rink bowling green that exists today.

The current owner, Mr John Sargeant, continues to maintain the green for the benefit of both the club and other residents who bowl on a casual basis.
